Blistering Arrogance

WARNING! WARNING! WARNING! WARNING!

I made this costume myself, to practice. When I tested to make it fit, I strapped a belt around my chest to flatten it.
I figured a little flatness would make the costume prettier in the end, and a little flatness wouldn't hurt.

When cosplaying Soren, Sephiroth, Itachi- heck, any male character, I apply chestbinding using DuctTape.

On warm days or in warm costumes, the tape usually wears off by it's own. Yesterday was somewhat colder, so I peeled it off in ordinairy fashion on my way home. It didn't hurt more than usual. Maybe a little.

The next morning the skin the tape had covered was pulled apart as if it had burst. Some upper layers of skin are gone. I've got a Rocky Mountains -amount of blisters.
It is rather ugly.

WHAT YOU CAN DO
If you're not wearing an open-chest costume, don't apply ductape binding, but apply bandage-binding-with-tape-on-top. Or even better, a 'real binding shirt.'
Open shirt DucktTape binding is possible.
Skin-coloured fabric is the best coice, but won't look as neat.

My skin is horrible now, I hope it will fade soon.
